Mr-Glass Bathroom Remodeling: The Fresno Owner’s Guide
Mr-Glass bathroom remodeling in Fresno typically runs $9,000 to $28,000 installed, depending on whether you’re replacing a failing glass enclosure or gutting the whole wet area. Most owners discover a problem the same way: a shower door starts dragging, a corner seal lets water through, or a towel bar pulls loose from the glass and the anchor spins in the hole. We carry Mr-Glass-compatible hardware and glass panel replacements on our trucks, so if the failure is isolated to the enclosure itself, we can often swap the part without tearing into tile or substrate. If the glass is fine but the framing behind it has rotted, that’s a different conversation and a bigger number.

Bradford Remodeling Co Fresno is an independent contractor. We are not a Mr-Glass dealer or factory affiliate. What we are is a Fresno crew that has seen enough failed enclosures to know which models are worth saving and which are better off replaced outright.
Which Mr-Glass Models This Applies To

Mr-Glass enclosures come in three basic configurations that matter for parts matching: framed, semi-frameless, and frameless. The framed units use aluminum channel with 3/16-inch glass. Semi-frameless runs 1/4-inch glass with a header rail. Frameless panels are 3/8-inch or 1/2-inch tempered glass, and the hardware is the whole support system. If you’re trying to match a roller, a hinge, or a sweep, the glass thickness is the first thing to check. A roller made for 3/16-inch framed glass will not fit a 3/8-inch frameless door. The original glass will be stamped with a tempering mark in one corner; the panel width and hole spacing for the hardware are your next measurements.
On the hardware side, Mr-Glass used a mix of side-mount and glass-clamp hinges across their model years. Early 2000s enclosures took side-mount hinges with a 1-inch hole pattern. Later production moved to 1-1/2-inch spacing on the clamp style. Aftermarket equivalents are fine for rollers and sweeps, but hinges and clamps we’d rather match OEM. The tolerances on those mounting holes are tight, and a slightly-off aftermarket hinge makes itself known as a door that sags three weeks after install.
We also stock parts for KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone bath installations, for owners running mixed-vendor bathrooms.

Signs Your Mr-Glass Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing
- Door drags or catches at the bottom track. Rollers wear unevenly, especially in Fresno hard-water conditions. Calcium and lime build up on the wheel bearings and the door starts grinding instead of rolling. Sometimes it’s just buildup; sometimes the bearing is shot and the roller needs to come out.
- Water seeping under the bottom sweep. The vinyl sweep hardens and shrinks after five to seven years of Central Valley heat cycling. You’ll see a slow puddle collecting on the curb outside the door even when the door is closed tight.
- Glass panel feels loose when you press on it. This usually means the wall channel screws have pulled free from the substrate behind the tile. In older Fresno homes with original drywall, the anchors just let go. If there’s mold on the drywall when we open it up, that’s a substrate problem, not a hardware problem.
- Towel bar or handle wiggles at the mounting point. The rubberized grip inside the glass clamp deteriorates with age and cleaning chemicals. Once that grip loses tension, the bar rotates on the glass. Tightening the set screw helps temporarily; replacing the grip pad is the actual fix.
- Corrosion on the hinges or header hardware. Fresno water is hard, and if the enclosure is in a poorly ventilated bathroom, the constant humidity speeds up pitting on plated hardware. Once the plating starts flaking, the metal underneath corrodes fast.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
Here’s what we quote in Fresno for Mr-Glass-related bath work:
- Glass panel or door replacement only: $3,000 to $8,500 installed
- Full enclosure swap (framed or semi-frameless): $4,500 to $12,000 installed
- Bathroom remodel including Mr-Glass enclosure work: $9,000 to $28,000 installed
- Small bathroom with enclosure replacement: $5,000 to $12,000 installed
The spread comes down to glass thickness, panel count, whether we’re replacing the hardware or reusing it, and what we find when we open the wall. Every bid includes the written price before work starts, the parts, the labor, clean removal of the old enclosure, and haul-away. No numbers move at the door. If we find rot behind the tile mid-job, we stop, show you what we found, and give you a written change order before we touch it. That’s The Garrison Standard, and it applies to every job, every time.

All work is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise. If the enclosure leaks, sags, or a roller fails inside that year, we come back and fix it at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely clean the tracks, check for loose set screws, and look for water staining around the bottom track. Those are good habits. What you should not do is pull a glass panel or attempt to re-hang a door. Tempered glass is strong until it isn’t; one wrong twist against a metal edge and the whole panel shatters into a thousand pieces on your bathroom floor. Same goes for the hinges under tension: a door that weighs 80 pounds hanging at an angle can take a finger off if it slips while you’re loosening a clamp bolt. This is the part where we tell you plainly: glass enclosure work is not a YouTube project. The hospital bill costs more than the service call.
Call us at (559) 785-2712 and we’ll send a background-checked, uniformed technician to your door. You’ll know who’s coming before we arrive, and you’ll have a written price before we touch a tool. Curtis Lane has been fixing leaky, sagging, and crusted enclosures in Fresno bathrooms for over two decades, and his crew can usually tell you what’s wrong and what it costs in one visit.
FAQs

A properly installed Mr-Glass enclosure lasts 10 to 20 years in Fresno, but the hardware (rollers, sweeps, hinges) usually needs attention at the 5 to 8 year mark. Hard water and Central Valley heat shorten that timeline if the bathroom isn’t ventilated well. Call (559) 785-2712 and we’ll look at what’s actually wearing on your enclosure.
Yes, in most cases we can replace a single panel, re-set a loose hinge, or swap a worn roller and sweep without touching the tile. We’ll tell you honestly if the frame or substrate is too far gone. Call (559) 785-2712 and we’ll give you a straight answer.
A single glass panel or hardware swap is a half-day job from truck to cleanup. A full enclosure replacement runs one to two days depending on framing condition. You’ll have a written timeline before we start, and the site is clean before we leave.
Yes, we stock common Mr-Glass-compatible rollers, sweeps, hinges, clamps, and towel bars on our trucks. If your part is specific to an older model, we order it and coordinate the install once it arrives. Call (559) 785-2712 with your glass thickness and measurements and we’ll tell you what we have.
If your Mr-Glass enclosure is failing, don’t wait for water to find the drywall. Call (559) 785-2712 for a free estimate. The estimate says what we build, and we build what the estimate says.
